The idea to modernize the cultural center in Vranov nad Topľou was born from the goal of bringing a high-quality, multifunctional space to the region for the general public. The result is a modern center that serves as a venue for education, community gatherings, and cultural development—for everyone from children to seniors.
The project reflected the long-term public need for a space that would connect the library, cultural events, and social life. The ambition of the investor—the Prešov Self-Governing Region—was to create an environment meeting current European standards, without compromise, and to bring high-quality architecture even to a smaller town.
The modernization included the creation of new spaces for the Upper Zemplín Library and the Upper Zemplín Enlightenment Center, as well as facilities for exhibitions, events, and community activities. Emphasis was also placed on functionality and orientation within the building to ensure it is naturally accessible and utilized by visitors.
The company ABC KLÍMA also participated in the implementation of this project, as part of the team behind its successful outcome.
The quality and significance of the project are confirmed by its award in the prestigious Building of the Year 2025 competition, where it received the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic Award for its contribution to society.
We are pleased to have been part of a project that has a real impact on the development of cultural and community life in the region.
