On March 21, 2026, we had the opportunity to experience an exceptional cultural evening that we will remember for a long time. We visited the Zrkadlový háj Cultural House in Bratislava, where the Košice folklore ensemble OMLADINA presented their production “Tarhi laski”.
OMLADINA is a group of former dancers, musicians, and singers from Košice and the surrounding area, united by their love for folk art. It is composed of mature individuals with youthful enthusiasm, proving that a passion for folklore knows no age. We are all the more pleased that our Košice Executive Director, Rudo Baran, is behind the founding of this ensemble, while our Service Department Director, Miro Hnát, also performs on stage.
The performance “Tarhi laski” was not a traditional folklore show. It was a powerful combination of folk dance and storytelling that drew us in from the very first moment. It featured a compelling plot, emotions, humor, and more serious themes such as war and human weaknesses. A subtle touch of female emancipation gave the entire work a contemporary dimension.
Colleagues from ABC KLÍMA and PM Services Slovakia truly enjoyed this evening. It was full of energy, emotion, and great performances that left a strong impression on us. We thank the OMLADINA ensemble for a beautiful experience and hope that this was not the last time we attend one of their performances.
